37 Hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accommodation Officer to join the Council’s Housing Solution Team.

You will be responsible for delivering an efficient temporary accommodation service in a busy front line homelessness team. You will liaise with Housing Solution Advisors to place families in and individuals into temporary accommodation ensuring the most suitable options are secured based on support needs assessments.

You will be the first point of contact for landlords and key partners. You will establish working relationship with internal and external partners to assist in the procurement of accommodation.

This is a challenging area of work and will require experience of working with complex needs.

To be successful in this role, you will be a good problem solver who is able to work assertively but sensitively and also be a good team player.

Working as part of a busy team you will need to work well under pressure and on your own.

You will have excellent communication skills and a positive approach to your work.

You must be adaptable and be able to react effectively to changing circumstances. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
