An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Statutory Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Assessment, Planning and Review Team, in the role of SEND Inclusion Manager.

You will beresponsible for the effective leadership and management of the Pre 14 SEND Inclusion Team, on behalf of Bristol City Council, taking responsibility for statutory procedures under the terms of the Children and Families Act 2014, The SEND Regulations (2014) and SEND Code of Practice 0-25yrs (2015).

What will I be doing?

You will take responsibility and management for the Pre 14 Inclusion Team and liaison with parents, schools, and other professionals in order to fulfil the team’s statutory duties.

You will ensure a structured, systematic, and high-quality response to the Team’s core responsibilities, making decisions on behalf of the Local Authority and working closely with families, keeping the child at the centre of a person-centred approach, and having regard to the voice of the child and the aspirations of the family, at all times.

In addition to the need for a high level of leadership and management, this role provides a great opportunity for using your own initiative and developing new systems and processes, supported by data analysis, to review team practice and implement improvements to systems, communication and service delivery for the city’s children/young people and their families.

What do I need to have?

You will be a skilled SEND professional who will have amassed experience and confidence of working under the terms of the Children and Families Act 2014, The SEND Regulations (2014) and SEND Code of Practice 0-25yrs (2015). You will be a resilient, highly motivated and committed individual with a strong drive for attention to detail, previous proven experience of accurate recording and reporting of information using IT and passionate about driving improvements in processes and SEND operating procedures. You will have a good grasp and experience of using Excel to record, report and analyse data and ideally know how to use the Liquid Logic EHM data system too. You will have good communication skills both written and verbal and possess the ability to work with a range of stakeholders including across various services, within Bristol City Council, as well as education professionals.
