1-2-1 Teaching Assistant (Primary School)

Your new company
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary school in South Tyneside. The successful teaching assistant will work on a one to one basis with a KS1 pupil who has Autism. You will be supporting the pupil in all core subjects, therefore a good understanding of English, Maths and Science as well as previous experience working with special educational needs is essential.


Your new role
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, your job is to enhance and enrich the learning of the pupil in your care. You will work hard to ensure the pupil is constantly engaged with an overall aim of improving their behaviour and their subject knowledge. As this is a long-term and full-time temporary position, you will be required to have full commitment to this role to build confidence working with the pupil.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this Teaching Assistant role you must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, as well as recent experience working within a primary school. Recent experience working with SEN pupils is essential, and 1-2-1 experience is highly desirable.
