Children's Social Care – Assistant Team Manager (Social Workers in School Project)

PO5: £46,392 p.a. to £49,428 pa incl. LW

Secondment – extending to July 2023 subject to funding release.

A unique and exciting opportunity has opened up to join the Social Workers In Schools team in Lambeth.

In August 2022, Lambeth was awarded a third round of funding by the Department of Education to build on the initial positive findings of locating social workers directly in local schools.

The funding enables Lambeth to continue its offer of a schools-based social worker in six secondary school.

The team undertakes a variety of case work from preventive work in schools to statutory work in school. We get to know our young people well and are innovative with relationship based social work practice

The team is seeking an Assistant Team Manager to support the Team Manager to develop social care practice, provide case supervision, assist with management tasks and promote the highest standard of social work delivered in schools.

This is a bespoke role which has been created to support Lambeth in achieving the objectives of the Social Work in Schools project and to support the team to meet the requirements of funders.

Responsibilities will include:

• Coaching, mentoring, supporting and/or supervising school-based social workers in the team;
• Promoting, sharing and embedding learning across the team;
• Supporting the Team Manager to manage staff and resources;
• Promoting excellent interagency work;
• Supporting the Team Manager in decision-making and management oversight responsibilities.
