The News and Media adviser is a crucial role within the Media and News Relations team.

The successful candidate will take the lead in research and planning for media campaigns to ensure that the BMA is well represented in the media on key aspects of health policy and issues concerning the medical profession.

The role also involves provide timely, high-quality, professional BMA member and media briefings, draft press releases and. In addition to the above, this role will include specific responsibility for translating analysis of the BMA’s media coverage at a national a regional level into reports that help shape proactive media and member engagement activity and help maintain good relations between the BMA and the media at a regional level.

There is a requirement to provide out of hours media support and guidance, for which a generous out of hours allowance is paid.

The role is a hybrid one, between home and the BMA’s head office in central London.
