Horizon Teachers are working with a secondary school based in the Dagenham area of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham who are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with experience of working with students who have speech and language difficulties. You will join an all-through mainstream school, who have built their formula on high expectations, a relentless focus on standards and the belief that every young child can succeed.

Key responsibilities:
• To develop knowledge and understanding of a range of learning support needs across KS3 and KS4.
• Work on a small group basis with students with a speech and language delay where a student isn't developing speech/language at the expected rate.
• Establish good relationships with pupils and supporting them to develop their social skills.
• Assist the classroom teachers and SENCO in the development of a suitable programme for pupils who need learning support.

• An ability to communicate calm and effectively with a wide range of people
• Experience working with children who have additional needs i.e., speech and language delay.
• Passionate about creating a positive educational environment
• Flexible, adaptable, and creative and able to respond positively
