Description

Head of Finance, The Harmony Trust

Salary: Competitive

Start date: As soon as possible

The Harmony Trust operates fifteen academies based in Oldham, Tameside, and Derby, and was set up in February 2014 with the core aim of raising attainment in local schools. However, we are a Trust that is ambitious, and what we have provided so far for our schools and communities is so much more than this. We have the highest aspirations for our pupils, parents & carers, and staff members, and our vision is to provide an excellent primary education that gives our children the very best chance of succeeding in life. We work hard to ensure that every child achieves, and as a key part of this we value each employee for their essential contribution to the success of our academies. We are now seeking to appoint a skilled and highly collaborative Head of Finance to join us on our journey. This is a great opportunity to join a successful, values-led Trust and make a tangible difference to the communities we serve.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with Trust and senior school leaders to provide professional and operational financial support of a consistently high quality. In practice, this will mean delivering operational rigour and managing a team of finance professionals to provide an efficient and effective financial service for The Harmony Trust. To be successful, you’ll be able to demonstrate dynamic finance leadership coupled with a detailed understanding of the systems needed to ensure robust financial planning. Naturally, you’ll bring strong experience in financial planning and management, and be a proactive and strategic leader.

The new Head of Finance will have a flair for leading teams and communicating effectively, and you will be able to demonstrate resilience and determination in meeting deadlines under pressure. As part of this, you will have excellent organisational skills coupled with the ability to work at pace and prioritise effectively. Most importantly, you will be wholly committed to delivering in your area of work, to ultimately benefit the academies and children we serve.

It is a truly exciting time to join us at The Harmony Trust. In return we can offer you opportunities and support in a positive, forward-thinking organisation that relentlessly focuses on the development and wellbeing of its employees. The Trust operates a hybrid working model, so the Head of Finance will have an office base (options to be discussed) as well some flexibility to work from home. Regardless of whether you are already working in education or if you are considering a change of sector, if our work sounds like a good fit for you then do get in touch. We are always keen to hear from great leaders who share our values.
