BSL Educational Communicator, Southend, Essex

Your new role

A BSL Educational Communicator is needed for an education provider based in Southend, Essex. As the BSL Educational Communicator your role will involve working with pupils with complex hearing impairments. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, driven and caring person with effective customer care and IT skills.

This Southend education provider is looking for a candidate who has had previous relevant experience of operating within a Learner Support environment and significant experience of working with young people or adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. They must have effective communication, interpersonal, presentation and organisational skills with the ability to provide a differentiated support service to learners. The successful candidate will also need an awareness of the Equality Act 2010 and Children and Families Act 2014 and of the potential barriers that may exist to learning and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the learners.

What you need to apply for the role of BSL Educational Communicator

• QCF Level 2 numeracy & literacy qualification/GCSE Grade 4
• Minimum of BSL Level 3 or above for HI learners
• Language Modifier Accredited Training is desirable
• Communications support Worker qualification (CSW) are desirable but not essential
• Specialist Notetaker for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students experience is desirable but not essential
