Description
Central is currently recruiting for a Team Manager, to work in the Camden area. The service is a mixed use homeless hostel which has 95 supported units for former rough sleepers with a combination of support needs. The aim of the service is to motivate service users to get on the right track and find a way to independence.
The Team Manager will be part of the management team working to support the staff team to deliver a programme of support to customers in a therapeutically and personalised way.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working fromMonday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Please note, there is a requirement to work the occasional weekend (maximum once a month). Cover is required until the end of November. The pay rate is £16.92 per hour, with £2.12 holiday pay, totalling £19.04 per hour.
In this position, you will be responsible for;
- Provide line management, supervision and appraisal to 8 support staff within the service
- Hold day to day responsibility for rota cover and staff deployment.
- Ensure that all staff receives appropriate induction, training and development opportunities.
- Performance management including setting targets, monitoring and taking action to address any performance issues.
- Ensure that residents are supported to sustain their tenancies through effective management of their rent and accommodation charges, safeguarding their accommodation and preparing them for independent living.
- Ensure voids are minimised and the service is accessible and available to all that need it.
- Ensure the implementation of the support database and that appropriate records are kept.
- Ensure the delivery of a quality service which reflects best practice and adheres to all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and performance standards.
- Develop and maintain positive links with local statutory and independent sector services.
- Carry out regular audits of service provision including; health and safety.
- Liaise effectively with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure referrals and assessment issues are dealt with in a timely fashion, and service utilisation is maximised.
- Work within and monitor the service budget against management accounts.
- Ensure that all the work carried out by the service meets Health and Safety requirements.
To apply for this role, you must have;
- Experience in working in a hostel setting with customers with complex needs experiencing homelessness
- Experience managing staff
- Knowledge of the Housing Sector especially resettlement and housing issues for people with support needs including welfare benefits
- Knowledge and understanding of up-to-date legislation and government frameworks relevant to homelessness
- Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting individuals relevant to homelessness
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures for adults and children and health and safety
- Experience of working within an assessment and support planning process
- Experience of fostering and maintaining relations internally and externally
- Awareness of Budget, Finance and HR (internal stakeholders)
- Management qualification or other relevant professional qualification
