Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the premises team at one of the oldest and most prestigious educational establishments in the country, The Kings School, Canterbury, in providing a professional building surveying service to the school.
Reporting to the Premises Director, the Project Surveyor will lead on the provision of professional advice relating to the entire portfolio of 133 school properties, including Boarding/Day houses, teaching facilities and residential properties across all school sites.
The postholder will provide detailed condition survey reports relating to all properties, identifying defects and advising on repair and maintenance options. This will include the recommendation of restoration projects whilst considering the architectural and historic importance of the school site. You will also monitor capital refurbishment and internal maintenance works to ensure quality and productivity are to the highest standard.
The successful candidate will hold a RIS accredited Building Surveying degree and be either working towards or already achieved MRICS with post qualification experience. Demonstrating good building pathology skills, you will have the ability to analyse problems in order to identify solutions. Good oral and written communication skills coupled with knowledge of IT software, including computer-aided design (CAD), will be essential. A current valid driving licence will also be required.
