Wellcome is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate.
These challenges need the bold research our funding supports, but they won't be solved by science alone.
We are looking for a Head of People Partnering to lead and coach an amazing team of people partners on their journey to being a world class people partnering function
We launched our exciting new strategy last year and have been working on ensuring that we have the structure and people to deliver it. As part of this growth, the People team have re-focused roles to match our ambitions. We have also embarked on a transformation journey, investing in great technology (Workday, Darwin) to offer a better experience to our people; built solid foundations to help move us on our journey to world class service and re-engineered the People Partner role to enable it to offer true strategic partnering to our client groups.
In this role your mission will be
- You are a passionate believer in the importance of the role of the strategic People Partner, leading a team of 7, you will develop and coach the team to ensure that they are able to reach their full potential in the role.
- You will oversee the smooth delivery of People Partner responsibilities and accountabilities leading the transition of the role from an operational focus through to true strategic people partnering for client groups.
- You will be a key member of the People Operations Leadership team, sharing your ideas, expertise and experience, deputising for the Associate Director, People Operations as required. You will collaborate with colleagues across Wellcome, forging solid connections with our Networks, senior leadership team and centres of excellence in the people team
- While keeping an eye on external trends, you will be aligned with the People strategy, our culture and our organisational aims. You will always act in the best interest of Wellcome, supporting its diversity, inclusion and equity goals.
To be successful in this role you are:
- An experienced people manager who really enjoys building, leading and motivating an integrated, inclusive and flexible team whilst focusing on their overall wellbeing
- An experienced strategic People Partner who has worked at senior levels within an organisation, aligning with diverse client groups to deliver on their people strategies
- An organisational navigator, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and matrixed organisation.
- A trustworthy collaborator and engaging communicator who can interact with diverse audiences who has the desire to listen to others, build mutually rewarding relationships and develop sustainable solutions.
