Behaviour Support Assistant - Primary School in Maidenhead

1:1 Support with SEN Child (Behaviour Support)

Do you enjoy working 1:1 in a mainstream environment with children with additional needs?

An excellent mainstream primary school in Maidenhead are searching for an experienced Behaviour Support teaching assistant to join them on an immediate basis. The primary school is close to the station which is accessible from London and Reading. They have a child in Year 3 with an EHCP - the child has SEMH needs and will require someone who understands these needs. There is a combination of physical and cognitive delay in this child. The primary school are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and has a true passion for working with children with SEN/ Autism. The child displays some challenging behaviour so the primary school are looking for someone with excellent behaviour management skills.

This is a long-term, full time opportunity and will require a teaching assistant who is fully committed to their role. Ideally the teaching assistant will have had previous experience in a similar position working with special needs in a school. This role requires someone with patience - the school are happy to provide support and guidance but will need a teaching assistant who is confident to work with SEMH.

The primary school is graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. The school are looking for someone to be consistent for this child and offer ongoing support. The successful Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant will be working closely with the SENCO so will be a great opportunity for you to learn from their experience and develop in your career.
